    Watch: Mother speaks after son Yaseer succumbs to injuries from knife attack in Batla House days ago.

    It was days ago when the OT had reported about the attack on Yaseer Saifi, 24, in Batla House. He was rushed to hospital by his friend and relative after they were informed, they had said. The family said on Saturday they came to know that Yaseer has succumbed to his injuries after they reached AIIMs where a few days ago he was operated upon for his injuries.

    It was days ago when the OT had reported about the attack on Yaseer Saifi, 24, in Batla House. He was rushed to hospital by his friend and relative after they were informed, they had said.

    The family said Yaseer was returning back to his house in Shaheen Bagh when the attack took place. Several arrests were made in the case, said sources.

    The family said they had no idea why and who attacked Yaseer, an electrician by profession on March 4 in Batla House. After an operation in AIIMS the family said they were hopeful of his recovery. However, they were shocked to know on Saturday that he could not survive and passed away. They said the body has been taken for post-mortem and will be handed to them on Sunday morning.

    Several Okhla leaders, including Gentle Hedayatullah reached the spot and interacted with the family. On the night when Yaseer was hospitalised, Gentle was with the family in AIIMS.

    Gentle told the OT later on that the family is planning to take the body to hometown in UP for tadfeen.
