About Us

Award winning journalism, e-hyper-local! Telling stories of Okhla daily.

Running without any institutional support, the hyperlocal platform now has thousands of captive local residents who daily read reports and watch videos.

If you support big legacy media organisations by paying to read their newspapers, why not support the OT? We have been highlighting your stories since 2011 with highly dedicated professionals but unpaid team, who work to bring you original reports from the ground zero. And during Covid deadly 2nd wave, the OT was the only reliable source for Okhla residents. It braved danger to keep you updated daily with original reports about your beloved ones and covered the pandemic from ground zero. Some of our reports even found space in mainstream media. And we cannot grow without your support.

Whether it is Jamia Millia Islamia or Shaheen Bagh or Batla House, Jasola, Sarita Vihar, New Friends Colony or environment or health or toxic plant in the residential areas, the lifestyle e-daily has covered every incident small or big all these years with some of its videos going viral.

It strives hard to highlight important issues, like lack of quality school, piled up garbage on roadsides, non-availability of drinking water, traffic snarl, low-quality buildings, women issues and sewage.

To reach a wide range of residents, including youths and women, the portal uses social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and others, to reach readers.

Also, it provides a platform to residents to discuss local issues, locate and review nearby businesses, and read and contribute local news stories.

The portal is an experimental issue-led community journalism initiative with active residents also providing tip-off for story, strengthening local governance and empowering marginalised through digital inclusion.
