Watch: Cars damaged as wall caves-in during non-stop rain, pole falls

Two cars were damaged after a boundary wall in Ghaffar Manzil collapsed during non-stop rain in Okhla, residents said on Monday. A guard told the OT that it was only at 8 am on Monday when he came to the spot and saw the caved-in wall following which two vehicles were damaged. One car was damaged heavily and some residents were seen removing bricks from it, he said.

Another resident said a cemented pole also got dismantled and one electric pole has been tilted due to non-stop rain. “It happened on Sunday night and we don’t know when the wall of a boundary at Ghaffar Manzil will be fixed. My request from authorities is that they should fix it as soon as possible as one electric pole, which is tilted, can fall and chances are that commuters might get hurt,” said Mohd Adeeb.

The guard said he saw a man with his leg bandaged. A few trees also were uprooted with branches on the road.

Residents lamented that Ghaffar Manzil is in bad shape with the entry of the colony waterlogged for days. Besides, commuters are facing hardship as road has deteriorated with several potholes, said residents asking for immediate action.
