    Jamia Administrative Staff body felicitates Najma Akhtar

    Jamia Administrative Staff Association (JASA) felicitated Prof. Najma Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) for being conferred the Honorary Rank of Colonel Commandant NCC by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The function was organised at the lawns of Nehru Guest House of the university on 22nd February, 2023, which was attended by Prof. Nazim Husain Jafri, Registrar, JMI, Senior Officers of the university, General Secretary, JASA, Mr. Nasim Ahmad, President, JASA, Mr. Jahangir Ahmad and other staff members of the university.

    Non-teaching employees of the university who have superannuated after their long invaluable services to the university were also felicitated by the Vice Chancellor on this occasion.

    Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Najma Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, JMI said “I am thankful to JASA for honouring me and I must say that this is an achievement for not only me but for the whole Jamia Fraternity”.

    Prof. Najma Akhtar further said “non-teaching staff members of the university are like those important parts of a machine which are not visible from outside but without their efforts the machine can’t move efficiently. The university is achieving new milestones all because of joint efforts of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the university”.
