Relief for residential, commercial property owners of unauthorised colonies

Mayor Anamika said in order to provide relief to the citizens of Delhi, the SDMC has decided that residential and commercial property holders have to pay the property tax only for two years (i.e. 2019-20 & 2020-21). The pending tax since 2004 will be completely waived off.

Under the Amnesty Scheme, the benefit of 100% waiver of interest and 100% penalty is provided to all the properties. The last date of this Amnesty scheme is 30 July 2020.

She said earlier it was decided that owners of non-residential or commercial properties have to pay the property tax for the last three years and residential properties have to deposit two year property tax, but now there will be the same condition for both residential and non-residential properties.

Chairman Standing Committee Rajdutt Gahlot said the SDMC has provided both manual and online facilities for filing property tax returns. In addition to this, the SDMC is trying to provide more relief to its citizens and are organising special property tax camps in all colonies in association with the RWAs and local councillors.

He urged all the citizens to file their property tax returns on time.

The SDMC acknowledges the support of its tax payers for timely payment which enables SDMC to provide the better civic facilities and keep serving the society. The collection of Property Tax during this period will be an extended financial help from citizens for successful execution of COVID-19 works and other welfare schemes.
