A series of videos and pictures was posted by @streetdogsofbombay and @fightagainstanimalcruelties on Instagram. In the videos, a girl is heard interacting with some youngsters, trying to find out the actual culprits.
The post urges authorities to take action against the cruelty meted out on animals.

“Please help to punish them – Young boys in Okhla mutilate dogs every night for fun and have faced no consequences…” reads the caption of the post.
For some Zakir Nagar residents the development has come as a shock.

Informing the OT over phone, a resident, who serves food to stray dogs in his locality, said he has been contacted by some activists from other States of India who pointed out about the incident in the locality. Torturing animals is shocking and such people should be brought to the book so that stray dogs can be saved, he said.

It is not known why the youths are resorting to such shocking behavior, said another Zakir Nagar resident, known to take care of stray dogs throughout the year.
