    Schools of Specialised Excellence: How to apply, last date of application Feb 28

    Schools of Specialised Excellence: How to apply, last date of application Feb 28

    Eleven new Schools of Specialised Excellence (SoSEs) have been added to the list and now their numbers have increased to 31, said the Delhi government. These schools provide specialised education in 5 areas which include science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), humanities, performing and visual arts, high-end 21st century skills and Armed forces preparatory school.

    All the Delhi students who are residents of Delhi and study in any recognised school in Delhi can take admission in SoSE with a valid address proof of Delhi. For admission, the candidate will have to register at edudel.nic.in/sose and apply for SoSE of his/her choice.

    The last date of application in SoSE is February 28. Admission help desks have also been set up in all SoSEs to help the children during the entire admission process. After applying, the shortlisted candidates will have to appear for an aptitude test.  Based on their performance in the aptitude test, they will be offered admission.

    Within a few weeks of opening registrations, SoSEs have received more than 7500 applications, it said.

    “The process of admission for the new session has started in these schools now. Students can apply for admission in class 9th in their preferred domain till February 28. Along with this, admissions will also be taken in class 11th in STEM and Armed Forces Preparatory School this year. Students willing to take admissions can reach out to the admission help desk set up at their nearest SoSE,” it said.

    SoSEs started by Delhi Government provides the students with world class infrastructure and faculty for new age curriculum and learning in specialised domains, it said.

    The Delhi government has partnered with globally renowned institutions to provide world class education to children in SoSEs, it said adding that these institutions include International Baccalaureate (IB), Australian Council for Educational Research, Boston Consulting Group, , Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Delhi, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Vidyamandir Classes, National School of Drama (NSD), Global Music Institute, Lend-a-Hand India, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, etc. These institutions will help SoSEs in preparing children for higher education institutions and aspirational career opportunities by providing world class education.
