    Cops tighten screws on goons, loiters in Okhla

    Police tightens screw on goons, loiters in Okhla

    With aim to check criminal activities in the area and send a strong message among criminals, the police conducted Cordon off and Search Operation (CASO) in areas of Shaheen Bagh, Sarita Vihar and Amar Colony.

    Sharam Vihar under Shaheen Bagh Police Station, Priyanka Camp under Police Station Sarita Vihar and other areas were on the cops’ radar a few days ago, according to police.

    The staff was divided into teams and the areas were cordoned off and teams were positioned at the entry and exit point and other strategic points of the areas on high alert mode and thorough search was conducted in the areas, particularly on the hideouts of the suspected bootleggers, bad characters were checked and people loitering around were rounded off and interrogated, said police.

    The objective of the exercise was to check the criminal activities in the areas and send a strong message among the criminals, said the police, adding that the collective efforts of police teams resulted in instilling confidence in the general public and preventing the criminals from indulging in any criminal activities.

    During the operation three persons were arrested, 18 bad characters were checked and 133 vehicles were checked through Vehi App, it said.
