Shaheen Bagh activists come forward to help Covid patients get oxygen

As reports surfaced in Delhi about serious oxygen crisis in Delhi and with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal urging the Center to urgently provide oxygen to Delhi with some hospitals left with just a few hours of oxygen, some Shaheen Bagh-based activists have come forward and said they will provided all help to Covid patients to get oxygen.

Activist Sharib Hassan told the OT over phone that the team Sewa is at work to help and provide oxygen to the needy. He said the team will offer oxygen cylinder and ask patients to return them the empty one so that they could get it refilled.

He said needy people can call on this number for help on 8800202938 and 9999578616.

Besides team Sewa, a few days ago former Congress MLA Asif Md Khan also had vowed to help the needy people if Okhla with oxygen. He told the OT over phone a few minutes ago that he received several calls from people in Delhi today and is helping them.

“I want to inform Okhla residents that free oxygen help is only for the poor people,” he said.

Shaheen Bagh resident Waseem Saifi too had aired a video message via the OT a few days ago urging residents to help them with oxygen if they require. He runs his business of oxygen in the locality.

A mosque in Abul Fazal Enclave is also mulling to open its gates for Covid patient by adding oxygen beds in its premises on Jamaat-E-Islami Hind campus.
