Khan said Aslam was rushed to Apollo but couldn’t be revived.

Aslam was 47 years old and was laid to rest in his village, Barabasti, in UP on Sunday 10.30 am.

“It was two months ago when Aslam had some health issues and during a visit to Escort it was found that he had heart problem. Doctors had advised him heart operation. And he was to be operated after fifteen days but he died two days ago. He had gone to offer namaz in a mosque in Shram Vihar and there during sajida he suffered a heart attack and passed away. Others in the mosque rushed him to Apollo but doctors couldn’t revive him,” Khan, a Jamia alumnus, said.

Aslam had come to Okhla some twenty years ago and started his shop selling batteries. But later he switched over to other businesses, said Abdul Wahab Mallik, who knew him for years.

He was a very nice person and was always willing to help others, said Asif Md Khan, who knew him for the last 20 years. He was regular at mosque, he said.

Aslam has left behind three small children, including a daughter and a wife.
