    PhD awarded to Naseema Khatoon, Usha

    Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has declared Naseema Khatoon qualified in Doctor of Philosophy in Women Studies. She has worked on the topic “Impact of Cultural Practices on Muslim Community in Mau District (UP) – A Gender Analysis” under the supervision of Dr. Parveen Qamar, Associate Professor, Department of Women Education, MANUU.

    Besides, MANUU also has declared Usha qualified in Doctor of Philosophy in Hindi. She has worked on the topic “Sushila Takbhoure ke Sahitya Mein Dalit Nari Chetna” under the supervision of Dr. G. V. Ratnakar, Associate Professor, Department of Hindi, MANUU.

    In other event days ago, Professor Rumki Basu said: “India administrative system is rooted in its democratic tradition. It has developed as a model of development among the democratic regimes.”

    Basu, Head, Centre for Public Policy and Governance, New Delhi said this in the inaugural session of two-day National Seminar “Public Administration and Development Dynamics in India” being organised by the Department of Public Administration, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU). Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor presided over the inaugural session.

    Speaking as the Chief Guest, Basu has dealt in detail 75 years of development journey of the India and its administration.

    Prof. Ainul Hasan in his presidential remarks said that in every 100 years we confront new challenges. Now we should prepare ourselves to new challenge of making this country a developed country in its centenary year of 2047. This can be done thorough making friends, breaking barriers and including every one leaving no one behind, he said. The Vice Chancellor also released the Souvenir of the Seminar.
    The Guest of Honour, Dr. Waseemur Rahman, IRS, Assistant Commissioner, Income Tax in his address emphasised the role of administrators in making better policies for the progress of the country. Prof. Farida Siddiqui, Dean, School of Arts and Social Sciences in her address raised the concern about the developmental gap between the rich and poor, rural and urban areas and the gender.

    Dr. Syed Najiullah, Head, Dept. of Public Administration and seminar Convener said that the seminar brought together the academicians, administrator and policy makers on one platform so that they can deliberate on the developments in the theory and practice of Public Administration not only to strengthen the subject but also to contribute to the development vision of 2047.
    Dr. Ahmed Raza, Assistant Professor and seminar Coordinator welcomed the guest and seminar delegates. Dr. Sudhanshu Chandra, Assistant Professor, Legal Studies proposed the vote of thanks. A large number of delegates from different parts of the country presented their papers.
