    JASA felicitates Padma Shri Akhtar for her completion of three years as VC, taking Jamia to new heights

    New Delhi, April 26: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar was felicitated yesterday by the Jamia Administrative Staff Association (JASA) on her successful completion of three years as Vice Chancellor of the institution. The Felicitation & Iftar program was attended by the Registrar JMI Prof. Nazim Husain Jafri, senior officials, non-teaching employees and family members of the Vice chancellor.

    On this occasion the Vice Chancellor thanked JASA for the award and termed non-teaching employees as ‘backbone’ of the university. She said that whatever national and international recognition the university has achieved in the last three years are the results of the hard work of JMI employees as a team.

    JASA Gen. Secretary Nasim Ahmad enumerated the achievements made by the university under the leadership of Prof. Akhtar in the last three years. He thanked the Vice Chancellor for all she has done for the staff members since her joining. All JASA office bearers were present on this occasion.
