    Jamia mourns passing away of its employee Usman

    Jamia mourns passing away of its employee Usman

    Jamia Millia Islamia mourned the passing away of its employee Md Usman. An employee of Jamia’s finance department, Usma died on Tuesday on way to a hospital, said his relative.

    Mohd Rahman, an employee of the university placement cell, Usman, 56, on Tuesday morning complained of discomfort in his heart and he was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

    He was born in Amroha in UP.

    “He was a healthy man suffering from diabetes and was taking medicine. On Monday night he was fine as he hit the bed after playing his grandchildren. In the morning at 5 am he complained of some discomfort and was rushed to Escort Fortis. He died on way to the hospital,” said Rahman.

    He was laid to rest in Jamia graveyard on Tuesday after zohar. Namaz was offered at masjid Kahkasha in Okhla Vihar. A family member said they are expecting the university to provide job to one of his sons.

    After coming to know about his death, members of JASA and JTA visited the house in Okhla Vihar condole his death.

    He has left behind four daughters, three sons and a wife. Two daughters are yet to be married and two sons are single. One of his daughters died years ago, said a family member.
