    IAS officers Ashwani takes charge as Special Officer, Gyanesh as Commissioner in unified MCD

    Ashwani Kumar, IAS, and Gyanesh Bharti, IAS, on Sunday took charge as Special Officer and Commissioner of unified Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) respectively.

    Both the officials assumed office at Civic Centre, Headquarters of the unified corporation.

    On the occasion, MCD Commissioner Gyanesh welcomed Special Officer Ashwani Kumar and introduced corporation officers to him.

    He also briefed him about the working of the corporation and also briefed him about challenges being faced by the civic body.

    Senior officials from various departments of the MCD, who were present on the occasion, also greeted both Special Officer and Commissioner.

    Ashwani is an IAS officer of 1992 batch of AGMUT cadre. Earlier he has held various positions including Chief Secretary of Puducherry and Principal Secretary in PWD, Delhi.

    Gyanesh is an IAS officer of 1998 batch of AGMUT cadre. Before taking charge as Commissioner of unified MCD, he was Commissioner of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) and East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC).
