    Jamia loses legendary son who gave music to its tarana for 30 years

    Jamia Millia Islamia has lost a legendary son who gave music to its tarana for 30 years. Zamir Ahmed passed away on Sunday at 5 am at his house in Old Delhi, according to his son Zeeshan Zamir Ahmed who is music instructor at Department of Teacher Training & Non-formal Education in Jamia.

    Zamir popularly known as Ustad Zamir was on dialysis for the last 10 years, said his son, adding that he was 65 years old. He was laid to rest today at Delhi Gate graveyard.

    His death is being mourned on the campus and by Jamia fraternity who knew him for giving music to Jamia tarana for 30 years before retiring. Ustad Zamir taught music at Jamia School.
    He has left behind 4 children 2 sons and 2 daughters.
