    Legendary cricketer Kapil Dev joins SDMC’s Swachhta campaign

    Legendary cricketer Kapil Dev joins SDMC’s Swachhta campaign

    Legendary cricketer Kapil Dev on Monday participated in Swacchta Programme organised at Central Zone’s Sunder Nagar and get associated with the Swachhta campaign being run by the SDMC.

    During the programme, Kapil Dev along with children and area residents did painting work at walls of dhalao ghar located there and also appealed to citizens to participate in Swachh Survekshan-2022 and support the SDMC.

    On the occasion, he encouraged children, office bearers of RWA and residents requesting them to ensure their participation in Swachhta re-lated activities of the SDMC.

    He said the flagship programme “Swachh Bharat Mission” can be successful when people will join hands together. He emphasised segregating waste at household level so the Civic Agency could dispose of the same in a scientific manner.

    In the run up to Swachh Survekshan 2022 and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) celebration, the SDMC organised a painting event for children in Sunder Nagar.

    The energetic children of painted walls of the dhalao, located inside the colony, it said.

    The primary theme of this event was promoting the 3R concepts (Re-duce, Reuse and Recycle), along with Source Segregation of municipal solid waste (MSW).Motive behind the drawing of these paintings to make citizens aware of Swacchhta, to encourage them to inculcate good habits besides ensuring beautification of the area.

    The SDMC, in view of Swachh Survekshan-2022, has been drawing paintings based on Swacchta themes at walls of corporation buildings, dhalao ghars, roundabouts, public toilets, etc in all four zones. The SDMC aimed to make people aware for such initiatives and to encourage them for active participation. The move will be helpful in achieving the goals of Swachh Survekshan-2022.
