    Hasrati Beghum was 85 years old and four days ago she fell in her house and got hurt, Kaleem Ul Hafeez told the OT over phone. She was rushed to a hospital where she couldn’t be revived. In the fall, she had sustained injuries on her back and head.

    Later on she developed infection in lungs which got choked.

    Beghum was chairperson of Al Hafeez Educational Academy Society which runs schools in Budaun in Uttar Pradesh. However, she was a housewife who took care of her children when her husband passed way some 20 years ago. Al-Hafeez Educational Academy is a Senior Secondary, affiliated to CBSE and founded in Founded in 2011.

    “My father died in 1985 and then I was 13 years old and she brought me and my five others,” said the AIMIM leader, who is also owner of Abul Fazal Enclave-based River View hotel.

    Beghum has left behind four sisters, and two sons.

    Those who knew her said they will miss a compassionate Beghum who was soft spoken.
