Talking about their philanthropic activities, a representative of Okhla-headquartered Society for Bright Future told the OT that they have lead in the ongoing relief work in Joshimath.

“There are cracks in all the houses and scores of people are being relocated to safer places. In this situation, the Society for Bright Future (SBF) has taken a lead to help the people.  A high level delegation of Society for Bright Future visited all the affected areas of Joshimath,” said SBF PRO Afzal Khan.

The high-level delegation is being led by Aamir Jamal, Volunteer Coordinator of the Society. Other members include Waseem Ahmed, Devashis and Gauri Bhatt, it said in a statement issued to the media.

“They are meeting with the affected people who have lost their homes in this disaster. The SBF team has also distributed blankets to 25 homeless families,” it said.

SBF’s Notional Coordinator Irfan Ahmed expressed deep concern over deteriorating situation in Joshimath. He said the SBF is keeping a close watch on the situation there and is ready to cooperate with the Disaster Management Department of Uttarakhand State Government in relief and rescue operations.
