Students Islamic Organisation of India, Muslim Students Forum, All India Students Association and Fraternity Movement were part of the agitation which was held peacefully on the campus and later on it was dispersed, said students. The demonstration was held against the demolition of Javed Mohammad’s house in Allahabad and persecution of Muslims protesters in UP, Jharkhand and other parts of the country, said the SIO in a press statement to the media.

It is understood that since morning the university didn’t allow any students from getting inside the campus, said students.

Also, entrance exam for mass communication was going on.

Some students who had come from places to study in the library were not allowed entry inside following which they had to sweat in scorching heat, said a student, who had arrived in the library in the morning. A student said it was only after 11 pm that students were stopped entry into the campus and hence many students were not allowed entry into the library.
