    Jamia employees praise V-C Najma after university ranked in top 10 in NIRF-2021

    Jamia teachers bodies praise V-C Najma for university’s ranking in NIRF-2021

    Rejoiced with the improved ranking in NIRF-2021, three staff associations of the Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) wrote to Vice Chancellor Prof Najma Akhtar, praising her for leadership that made it possible for the university to upgrade its rank to 6th among top 10 universities of the country and overall 13th rank from 16th last year, according to a statement issued by the university to the media.

    While congratulating the entire Jamia fraternity for the achievement Jamia Teachers’ Association (JTA) in the statement issued by its Secretary Dr. Mohammad Irfan Qureshi said there is a wave of happiness on the university campus after the news.

    “Led by the dynamic and efficient leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof Najma Akhtar, securing such a high rank speaks of high caliber teaching and research programmes offered in Jamia Millia Islamia. Teachers of JMI deserve huge appreciation for their immense contribution to this achievement and for creating a sustainable and quality-oriented academic environment,” said the statement.

    Jamia Administrative Staff Association (JASA) in the statement issued by its General Secretary Nasim Ahmad said under the guidance of Akhtar the university is continuously marching upward. “The latest NIRF ranking is glaring example of this. JASA congratulated the Vice Chancellor, teachers, Registrar Dr Nazim Husain Al Jafri for the achievement and hoped that under Prof. Najma Akhtar’s leadership JMI will continue its upward movement,” it said.

    SRK Staff Association of the university congratulated the Vice Chancellor and Jamia fraternity for the achievement and hoped that she will keep on working hard to take JMI to greater heights.

    The association assured that it will help her in every possible manner for the development of the university.
