    Crackdown on illegal hoardings, banners

The civic agency has launched a drive on illegal hoardings and banners in Jamia Nagar as walls cluttered with unauthorised posters appeared clean.

Welcoming the move, residents blamed coaching institutes for illegally putting posters and banners across the locality in violation of the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act.

For long residents have been demanding actions against posters menace. It would be interesting to see how long its last, said one resident adding that as you walk in Batla House and other places you can see illegal posters and banners everywhere.

Even the wall of Batla House graveyard is not sparred by business groups, particularly coaching institutes, as they don’t shy away from defacing it.
