Commuters, women falling due to waterlogged road, pothole and nobody concerned: Ghaffar Manzil residents (video)

A well-known colony of Delhi, Ghaffar Manzil is in bad shape these days. Due to non-stop rain for the last three days, the entrance of the colony from Jamia Millia Islamia is waterlogged. Besides, the road has deteriorated with several potholes, said residents.

The situation is such that travelling on the road is risky as many cases of e-rickshaw turning turtle and commuters falling and getting hurt has been reported from this part of the area, said one resident. He said it was only a few days ago when a woman commuter, along with her baby, fell from an e-rickshaw after it stepped over pothole. She sustained fracture in her hand, he said.

Residents lamented that commuting on the road is highly risky. Due to waterlogging it is difficult for two-wheelers and e-rickshaw drivers to spot the potholes, said another resident, adding that authorities should immediately look into the matter and take steps so that such accidents are avoided.

Some residents said as one walk in the colony one come across garbage strewn on the road and the stink is so strong that it is very difficult to pass by easily.
