    Bike theft, dark spot and garbage dump has left Shaheen Bagh 40-feet residents deeply worried. Several residents told the OT that it was seven days ago when a bike was stolen from the parking lot in a flat near the Freedom Fighters’ Fountain.

    From time to time miscreants steal vehicles’ items from the flat parking at night when there is dark, said one resident. Another resident was woman faced hardship at night as the whole spot is dark at night with drunkard moving around. She said on this stretch there are three shops which are looked after by women and women staffers fear going out at night time.

    Besides the dark spot, residents pointed out towards garbage being dumped on the corner of the road and two old vehicles. They said they fear that if the garbage is not removed from here it will become a permanent spot and might also turn into mountain of garbage. “We want the newly elected Councillor Ariba Khan to take action and get the area cleaned as she is focusing on Shaheen Bagh garbage dump,” said one resident.

    It would be interesting to see how fast, the Councillor takes action to get these burning issue addressed, said another resident, adding that the garbage situation has been like this for the last many years with nobody paying attention early despite several complaints from them.
