No lockdown in Delhi for now, 22K cases expected today: Kejriwal
We do not want to impose lockdown. We won’t if you wear masks. No intent for lockdown as of now,” said Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday.
The Chief Minister said: “Covid cases are rapidly rising. About 22,000 cases are expected in today’s health bulletin. Increasing cases concerning but need not be scared. I am saying so after analysing (comparing) data from the last wave.”
Kejriwal said there will be a few restrictions so that livelihoods are not affected.
On Saturday, some 20,181 people tested Covid positive. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 19.60 per cent. 513 cases of the Omicron variant were detected and of them only 57 patients have recovered.
Delhi is under weekend curfew.
