    Beware of fraudsters! We have been duped by conman, say Jamia Nagar residents

    Beware of fraudsters! We have been duped by conman, say Jamia Nagar residents

    A few residents of Jamia Nagar said they have been fleeced by a conman. According to one Tajuddin, the resident after taking some money from him has stopped picking up his phone. It is important that residents should be well aware of such people who move around in the locality as respectable person and then dupe them of money, he said.

    Revealing the name of the person as Basheer, he said he is very friendly and fleeces people after winning their trust and he told him that he is from South India. Other residents also shared their story of being victim of him. A businessman said he took away Rs 2,000 from met some six months ago and now has gone missing. Earlier he was regular at my shop but not anymore and it appears that he has changed his mobile number as well, said Rashid.

    He said he had promised me to return my money within 10 days but moths have gone by. He said another shopkeeper also told time that how he took groceries and other food items from him promising to pay later on. Over days, the money mounted and now he has left the locality, he said, adding that such people should be identified so that other residents don’t become victim. He is well dressed and talks big about his connection and moves around in the locality saying he used to work in Middle East, he said.
