    After Fouzul returned Congress ticket, this leader from Jamia got ticket from Sarita Vihar

    After Syed Fouzul returned the Congress ticket due to family reason as reported by this portal, the party gave ticket to a Ghaffar Manzil-based leader Shadab Alam’s wife from Sarita Vihar seat.

    Shadab is also an alumnus of Jamia Millia Islamia.
    Fouzul said the Congress party gave ticket to his wife Jawaria Mahfooz but she refused to contest as her father died a day ago. Following which Fouzul met the Delhi party president and returned the ticket as today was the last day for nomination for MCD poll 2022. Polling for the 250 MCD wards will be held on December 4 and votes will be counted on December 7.

    Now, Shadab’s wife will be up against Nitu Manish Chaudhary who is the sitting Councillor from Sarita Vihar. Before joining the BJP, she was in the Congress and last time she had contested election on the party’s ticket.
