The high-rise building was being demolished till the filing of the report, said a resident, adding that flat buyers will face hard times as their hard earned money will be lost.

The building is located at TTI road at Okhla Head, Jamia Millia road near Al-Bake.

On Monday when security was stepped up words started spreading in the locality and it was only after sometime known that the force has come to carry out demolition of two buildings one at TTI and the other one a few metres from there at Okhla Head in anti-encroachment demolition drive. A few local leaders and builders were seen around the building at TTI but nobody was willing to speak with the media. With everybody tightlipped the main reason behind the demolition couldn’t be known.

A resident said if demolition like this continues then 90 per cent of building in the area, which are high-rise, will be gone.

However, a resident who once tried to buy a flat in the high-rise building in huge area, said the buyers and people who had paid advance for the flats are one who will suffer the most.

Also, the barricading of the area at Okhla Head caused traffic jam with impact being felt at Abul Fazal Enclave, Shaheen Bagh and Okhla Head.
