    Watch: Okhla-based activist Aseem honoured for his social work

    Watch: Okhla-based activist honoured for his social work

    Jamia Millia Islamia alumnus and Johri Farm-based social activist Aseem Asha was honoured with Peak Social Transformer Award 2021 for his philanthropic activities.

    An alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and Jamia, Aseem after working in social field started his own foundation to empower the marginalised and over years his Okhla Vihar-headquartered Aseem Asha Foudation has guided many youths in the right direction.

    His foundation runs several programmes to empower girls in the locality coming from weaker background. Very recently, the foundation had run crowdfunding campaign to help Okhla youth complete his higher education, MBA.

    “It is a proud moment for the foundation as our work got recognition,” said Aseem, who very recently had adopted a few families of Okhla with whom his team celebrated Diwali and helped them financially.

    Also, foundation has worked for bridging gaps between communities in Okhla. During Guru Gobind Singh birthday this year, his team members visited Gurdwara in Taimur Nagar and distributed sweets among the devotees.

    Besides social work, the foundation train youngsters from economical weaker background video editing and documentary making. Several of foundation’s trained students have excelled in their profession with one student even winning award for her documentary.
