In the last two days, defeated AAP sitting Councillor Wajid Khan’s close aide, Saud Khan, has been sharing photos of waterlogged Shaheen Bagh and asking question: “Eight days gone and when will work begin as this road is waterlogged.”

The posts are soliciting comments with Congress supporters and AAP slugging it out.

Many Okhla residents, who voted for Ariba over garbage and cleanliness issues, are expecting the new Councillor to get down to work and address the burning issues. The oath ceremony for the MCD Councillors is yet to take place.

Over waterlogged street in Shaheen Bagh, Asif Md Khan said he has been informed that some people filled manholes to embarrass the new Councillor, a claim which the OT is yet to verify from residents.

Okhla watchers said it would be big challenge for Ariba to get working otherwise, like Wajid, residents will vote her out next time. Also, the observers said the win from AFE is a litmus test is an opportunity for Asif to revive his political prospects.
