    Anam Zafar secures All India rank 1 in UGC NET JRF

    Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) continues to shine in the academic arena as its student, Anam Zafar, M.Ed 4th semester student, has secured All India Rank 1 in the UGC-NET JRF examination.

    This remarkable achievement has brought immense pride to the university.

    In recognition of her outstanding success, the Department of Education and Training, felicitated Anam Zafar in a special event held in the Department. The faculty members, students, and university officials gathered to celebrate her exceptional accomplishment.

    During the felicitation ceremony, all the faculty members extended their heartfelt best wishes to Anam for her future academic and research pursuits. They praised her dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence, highlighting her as a role model for aspiring researchers.

    Speaking on the occasion, Prof Shaheen A Shaik, Head of the Department said: “Anam Zafar’s achievement is a testament to the high academic standards and research culture at MANUU. Her success will inspire many students to aim for excellence.”

    Along with Anam Zafar, the department also felicitated other students who successfully qualified for UGC-NET and JRF. Their accomplishments were celebrated as a collective success of the university’s academic environment and the faculty’s dedicated mentorship.

    Anam Zafar expressed her gratitude to her mother, mentors, faculty members, and family for their continuous support and encouragement. She credited the university’s academic environment and guidance from her professors as key factors behind her success.

    Her achievement is a proud moment for MANUU and reinforces the institution’s commitment to fostering academic excellence.

    In another event the Department of Physics, School of Sciences, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), successfully organised the International Conference on Current Advances in Applied Physics (ICCAAP-25). The second day of the conference featured insightful talks by esteemed scientists and researchers.

    Dr M Venkat Ratnam, Scientist & Head, (NARL) Department of Space, Government of India, Gadanki, delivered a lecture on climate issues, focusing on the greenhouse effect, and atmospheric dynamics.

    Sanjay Biswas, scientist, DRDO Hyderabad, shared his pioneering research on battery technologies for defense applications, including their potential use in missile and naval systems.

    Prof MA Shah, Department of Physics, NIT Srinagar, presented a novel bio-safe and bio-compatible method for synthesising metal oxide/hydroxide nanomaterials.

    Dr Sunitha AP Registrar, Sreenarayana Guru Open University, Kollam, Kerala, India, discussed the importance of green hydrogen production particularly through water splitting.

    Dr Ravi Misra, Department of Material Science and Engineering, Swansea University, United Kingdom, delivered a talk on emerging photovoltaics, covering the development of materials and devices for large-scale fabrication.

    Dr IM Noor, Centre for Foundation Studies in Science of University Putra Malaysia, presented his research on polymer electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Many eminent speakers have also presented their work in various disciplines of physics. Various distinguished speakers have also chaired and co-chaired the online and offline sessions.

    The valedictory session was graced by eminent academicians Prof. P. K. Suresh (Dean, School of Physics, University of Hyderabad) and Prof SA Hashmi (Dept of Physics & Astrophysics, University of Delhi). Dr Mohd Sadiq Convener of ICCAAP-2025 presented comprehensive conference
    report with summarising key discussions, innovative research, and new collaborations established during the event.

    The Chief Guest, Prof PK Suresh, emphasised the role of applied physics in technological advancements, while Guest of Honour, Prof SA Hashmi, highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary research in driving scientific progress. Vice-Chancellor, Prof Syed Ainul Hasan, MANUU, delivered the Presidential address, commending the organisers for the successful execution of the conference and encouraging further research collaborations.

    The event concluded with a prize and certificate distribution ceremony, recognizing outstanding research contributions followed by vote of thanks to all dignitaries, participants, and organising committees.
