Picket over, family waits for Talib’s body, their only son

The peaceful gathering of family members outside Jamia Nagar police station on Saturday for justice for 20-year-old Talib Salmani, who the family, claimed was beaten to death after fight broke out during gulli danda game in Batla House on Friday, is over. Now, the family members are waiting for the body of their only son to arrive.

Many residents got stuck in the jam as family members demanded justice for the death boy. It is reported that FIR has been registered and one arrest too has been made. Probe into the incident is on.

Several Congress leaders also turned up at the police station, including Zakir Nagar Councillor Shoaib Danish and former Okhla Congress MLA Asif Md Khan, said sources. Their supporters also did FB live from the spot.

Words spread in the locality this morning that Talib, who was beaten over gulli danda game in Batla House on Friday, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning in a hospital where he was undergoing treatment. Councillor Danish termed the developed as shocking event. Many residents were left shocked over the death report of a young boy.

Talib was the only son of his parents with two sisters, said a resident, who knows the family well.
