A resident sitting at a sweet shop told the OT that the uneven manhole poses threat to residents and it was only a few days ago when an e-rickshaw turned upside down with passengers falling and getting hurt. They were lucky as nothing serious happened, said the residents, adding from time to time we see how vehicles got stuck and bikers fall down after stepping over the manhole.

For days, big rocks were put at the corner so that commuters could see from far but now the deep manhole has been covered with rocks, however, it is still incomplete, said residents.

When the OT pointed out whey residents, specially eateries which make huge income from here, pool in money to get it built so that mishaps are avoided, he said nobody has yet thought on this line and moreover we don’t know how to get the work done as only a few days ago sewer line has been laid under it and if something goes wrong during work we will be pulled up.
