Children, parents celebrate spirit of Ramzan

An event was conducted for children and parents to celebrate the spirit of Ramzan through the ways the children learn best on Sunday: Involving head, heart, hands and soul and there will be a session for mothers accompanying the children to help them raise their child joyfully, said Maria Mehmood, a certified Parenting Coach, Career Strategist, DMIT Consultant and Counsellor.

Maria, a resident of Okhla and who graduated in Elementary Education, said a good number of children and parents turned up for the event which was held at Ghafoor Nagar.

Maria said she helps parents focus on supporting the developmental needs of their child in the most crucial phase of their life.

“The main focus is on the child in the family which means, I really customise my suggestions to suit different families. I believe to get into any role we need training, but for being a parent we are clueless many a times because of lack of awareness about milestones and child development,” she said.

“I’ve been an educator and a curriculum designer for seven plus years in a leading experiential school in Delhi dealing across age groups and parents and now aid parents in parenting through my page on Facebook and Instagram,” she said.

Sadaf, Zenobia, Muzna were volunteers of the event, she said.
