Prospectus give information as Jamia reopens online admission
The prospectus provides updated and comprehensive information about various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes being offered by Jamia; their eligibility criteria, application deadlines, entrance test dates, course fees and duration, and other details, with a view to providing students with a step-by-step guide to help navigate through the admission process.
Jamia is a NAAC A++ accredited Central University with minority status, meaning 50 per cent of its seats are reserved for Muslim students. The university is renowned for offering quality education and attracts students from across India as well as from around the world. The university also sees foreign and national companies visiting the campus for placement. Last month, Jamia’s University Placement Cell announced that three students from the Diploma in Electrical Engineering programme secured placement offers with Voltas.
The selected students have been offered a competitive salary package of Rs 12 lakh per annum for positions in the Middle East location.
This achievement highlights the excellent quality of education and training provided by JMI and the effectiveness of the University Placement Cell in connecting students with top-tier employers, it had said.
“These international placements demonstrate the commitment of Jamia’s University Placement Cell, which works diligently to facilitate placements for students across various disciplines, fostering strong relationships and connections with leading companies in India and abroad,” it said.
Also, a few days ago, Jamia Vice Chancellor Professor Mazhar Asif, and Registrar, Professor Md Mahtab Alam Rizvi, paid a visit to Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh on May 3 to discuss initiatives to strengthen defence and strategic studies teaching and research in the university.
Central to their discussion with the Defence Minister was the proposal for the establishment of a new Centre for Defence and Strategic Studies and collaboration with the School of Foreign Languages (SFL) run by the Ministry of Defence at Lodhi Road, New Delhi, with the aim to enhance the teaching of foreign languages among Defence Officers at Jamia, said the university in a statement.
Professor Asif and Professor Rizvi apprised Defence Minister Rajnath Singh about the vision behind the proposed Centre and the critical role it would play in strengthening strategic thinking and research in Defence Studies.
Further, the proposed Foreign Languages Centre, in collaboration with the School of Foreign Languages, Lodhi Road, would equip Jamia to serve as a specialised hub of teaching and training strategically important languages to Defence officers and to cater to the growing needs of the ministries and departments of the Government of India.
Together, the two initiatives will contribute tremendously towards strengthening strategic thinking – teaching and research and in the training and capacity-building of military personnel in foreign languages, the VC and Registrar, said.
Professor Asif and Professor Rizvi also briefed the Raksha Mantri on the academic achievements and ongoing progress and development of the university. The Defence Minister expressed his commendation of their efforts and Jamia’s educational excellence.
He offered full support and backing for the proposed initiatives and appreciated the unique way in which they aligned national security and the nation’s progress with academic innovation.
