    Jamia building ‘centenary gate’, work in progress

    Jamia building ‘centenary gate’, work in full progress

    To make the centenary year memorable, Jamia Millia Islamia has decided to construct a centenary gate in front of Dr Ansari Auditorium, according to sources. The gate is still under construction and will be completed soon, said sources.

    It was in 2020 when Jamia completed its 100 years and many physical events were shelved off due to surfacing of pandemic them and with the university also getting closed for years following Covid-induced lockdown across the country.

    The OT has learned that in front of Dr Ansari Auditorium work is going on which most probably is centenary gate. It was difficult to get official version, but sources said the exact date when the gate work will be finished is yet not known.

    Jamia bagged 6th rank in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the Ministry of Education (MoE), GoI. Also, the university achieved outstanding performance by securing 95.23 per cent score among all Central universities in a performance evaluation done by the Ministry of Education for the year 2019-20.

    1. Jamia, the only minority Central university in India, was accredited with A++ by National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) in December, 2021.

    The univeristy’s founding fathers played important role in India’s freedom movement.
