Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are rapidly shaping the future. With major companies increasingly adopting AI technologies, the demand for related courses has significantly risen. In response to this growing interest, the Department of Computer Engineering at Jamia Millia Islamia has announced a three-week Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, to be conducted in hybrid mode.

If you’re interested, this is a great opportunity to gain lifelong skills that can enhance your career and improve your job prospects. Before diving into the details of the programme, it’s important to note that the last date to submit the registration form is May 24, 2025 — which means you have just 10 days left to make up your mind if your interest is towards AI and ML.

    Additional info about programme

This 50-hour duration course (STTP) is open for people with Mathematics background. The course will start from July 1 and run till July 19 this year. Those eligible for the course included aspirants from Diploma, UG, PG as well as Ph.D background.

“A total of 160 seats are available for this STTP out of which 60 seats are for offline participants and 100 seats will be for online participants all of whom will be admitted strictly on First Come First Served Basis (FSFS),” said the university.

“This STTP shall have theory classes of 20 hours duration and hands-on practical training for 30 hours. It will comprise of five modules, namely, (1) Introduction of AI & Python Programming Basics (2) Applied Data Science with Python (3) Machine Learning Algorithms (4) Deep Learning for Computer Vision with Keras & Tensorflow and (5) Deep Learning for NLP with Keras & Tensorflow,” said Jamia in a statement.

Who will teach you Artificial Intelligence, ML programme at Jamia

Experts from Jamia and other reputed central/foreign universities, IITs, NIITs, IIITs as well as industry will be the resource person for the course, it said.

After successful completion of the course, participants will get a certificate.

“Additional information as well as online registration link are available on the official website of the university at the following link jmi.ac.in/STTP-AIML2025 since 10th May 2025. Contact: 011-26980281 (office) & 9212832360,” said the university.

The importance of AI and ML can be gauged from the fact that experts around the world have hailed them as transformative technologies of the future, poised to revolutionise major sectors and significantly impact humanity in the years to come.

“Artificial Intelligence is the new electricity. Just as electricity transformed almost everything 100 years ago, today I actually have a hard time thinking of an industry that I don’t think AI will transform in the next several years,” said Andrew Ng, Co-founder of Coursera, former head of Google Brain.

In this context, Jamia Millia Islamia’s initiative to offer a Short Term Training Programme (STTP) in AI and ML becomes all the more significant. Jamia Millia Islamia is a Central University with a recognised minority character, known for its academic excellence and cultural diversity. It attracts students not only from across India but also from various countries around the world, making it a vibrant hub of learning and innovation.
