Watch: Will AAP cancel Ariz wife ticket and give it to Mahmood’s wife from Zakir Nagar?

High drama unfolded outside Batla House office of Okhla AAP leader Mahmood Ahmed as his supporters turned up and raised slogans in favour of him. Some said that Mahmood’s wife should get ticket from the Zakir Nagar ward after it was declared reserved for women for MCD 2022 elections to be held on December 4 and the counting of votes will take place on December 7.

Initial Mahmood avoided the media but later on during one such interaction, he said he has spent more than 10 years in local politics and hence had had no idea he couldn’t get the ticket. He said some top AAP leaders had come to meet him and discussed the issue with him. When asked by the OT whether he would resign from the party, he said he was a die-hard AAP member and will stick with the party.

The OT again asked him whether AAP will cancel Ariz wife Salma Khan’s ticket and give to his wife, he said he is waiting for the party’s decision as by today’s evening some announcement is to be made. A few minutes ago, Mahmood wrote on his FB that he will be live on the social media platform to address his followers and supporters.

The OT contacted Ariz to get his view point on the issue. “See we were four people, Laddan, Shakil Shaifi, Mahmood and others, who were in the race to get the ticket. Only one person got it and I am sad that my brother Mahmood couldn’t get it. I am in talk with all these people and I am hopeful that I will be able to convince them and we will fight election together so that AAP candidate sails through in Zakir Nagar ward,” he said.
