Mushawarat fondly remembers its former President #SyedShahabuddin, on his death anniversary, who was the last legendary Muslim Quaid of Independent India, had stood for all oppressed and persecuted Indians & was strong defender of their constitutional rights throughout his life, tweeted Mushawarat.
Syed Shahabuddin died at 82 in 2017. A former diplomat he was part of the All-India Babri Action Committee.
He represented Bihar’s Kishenganj in parliament and served as a Rajya Sabha member between 1979 and 1996. He was head of the All-India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat from 2004 to 2007.
