Born in Rampur of Uttar Pradesh, Ali came to Okhla and since then was into tailoring shop and survived ready-made revolution of the 90 when most tailoring shops faced hardship as youngsters got attracted towards readymade clothes and suits.

“Ali was a hardworking man and a good tailor. Some of my friends got their clothes stitched there and they like it. His shop was behind gali number 1 in Ghaffar Manzil,” said a resident.

Ali continued with his Best to Tailor shop in Ghaffar Manzil which was frequented by the locals and those who loved stitched clothes.  The arrival of Covid in India did hurt his business like others in the national Capital and across the country.

He has left behind two children, said Shakir.
