“We are not against the work. We know it is being done for the betterment of the people but what worries us is that the lanes are left in bad state for months. So it is our request from the representatives that they should not leave roads dug up rather the work should be done systematically from one lane to another lane for the comfort of the residents,” said a resident on the condition of anonymity.

Residents said following digging up road for weeks the road has turned unmortable and just think if something goes run how can one carry patient to hospital. A resident of J block AFE said his road around Bakrid and still the work is not complete with locals facing hardship.

At times, they said even vehicles and e-rickshaws cannot reach our home. And when it rain then two-wheeler riders generally lose balance while pedestrians also face inconvenience due to the slippery conditions on the dug up road, said residents.
