    Jamia ranked 6 among Indian universities assessed for QS-WUR

    Jamia ranked 6 among Indian universities assessed for QS-WUR

    Jamia Millia Islamia is ranked 6th, as a Comprehensive Institution, among Indian universities in the recently released, London based QS World University Rankings (QS-WUR)-2022. The university is being ranked by QS since 2019, and as per QS-WUR it has consistently figured in the prestigious top 800 institutions of the World.

    This year QS World University Rankings 2022 featured 1,300 universities from around the world. Each institution has been assessed according to six key metrics, namely: Employer Reputation, Faculty/Student Ratio, Citations per faculty, International Faculty Ratio and International Student Ratio.

    The Institutions are classified by QS on the basis of their focus area of teaching for the rankings as – Comprehensive plus, Comprehensive, Focused and Specialist. JMI is categorised as a “Comprehensive” institution as the University offers education in diverse academic disciplines. The QS-2022 Rankings include 35 institutions from India.

    QS Rankings has placed JMI at 751-800 in the world and at 203 position in Asia. It is placed at 6th position, as a Comprehensive Institution, among the Universities in India.

    Recently, JMI was ranked at 601-800 by the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings- 2021 and at 180th position in its Asia Rankings. JMI has been placed at 10th position amongst Universities in the country in NIRF 2020 Rakings.

    “The University has shown significant progress in improving its national and international footprint. The teaching and Research excellence at JMI is being measured and recognised with its international peers. It is a matter of great pride and satisfaction for all of us,” said Prof. Najma Akhtar, The Vice-Chancellor, JMI.

    She thanked all colleagues and staff for this achievement exhorting them to continue their endeavours towards improving the rankings further in coming years.
