Ansari said he gave up his job at Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to prepare for UPSC and he will sit for it. He was working in RBS as a Finance Executive.

Ansari, never had any plan of joining government job until he got a job at RBS after completing his MBA from Aligarh Muslim University. “It was there that I realised to join government job and hence I resigned from there to start my preparation for UPSC. My grandfather was a government employee and my uncle works for railways. And when I joined AMU for doing my graduation I came in touch with a senior student who had cracked BPSC,” he said.

Ansari was born in Siwan and did his schooling from there later to study at AMU and then to Jamia.

His father was a homeopathy doctor who passed away in 2018. Ansari has four brothers and 4 sisters. Ansari’s elder brother also appeared for BPSC unsuccessfully.
