Moon was sighted in Okhla and other places across India.

Following which Eid will be celebrated on Friday and this is going to be for second year in a row that the festivities will be held amid Covid restrictions. Okhla resident Ershad Ahmed said following the Islamic tradition, he with his family members climbed their rooftops to sight the crescent moon, a Sunnah.

And he said as the sky was clear, he was able to sight the moon and even grab a photo and a video.

Like Ershad, there were other residents also who saw the moon and grabbed photo.

Naseem-Ur-Rahman, who currently is based in Patna, told the OT over phone that he too saw the moon. He, like Ershad and other residents, shared a few photos of the crescent moon.

And as Eid got confirmed for Friday, many residents celebrated the moment by sharing Eid Mubarak messages through social media or calling their relatives to break the news.

For many in Okhla, this Eid would be a low-key affair as some lost their near and dear ones this Ramzan to Covid.
