    Jamia’s engineering student Ashraf pens book on Covid-induced lockdown suffering

    Last year when lockdown was announced in India, many suffered hardship with migrants and students getting stuck for days, said Binyamin Ashraf, who studies engineering at Jamia Millia Islamia and said like others he too faced hardship as he was stuck in Okhla with no money at hand being forced to ask for iftari from Imam’s mosque.

    Learning from the experience, Ashraf said he decided to write a book and thankfully it got published.

    “The book is all about the first Covid wave in India when many were stuck in cities and photos of large number of migrants walking to their home are still afresh in our mind. It was then that I decided to write this book,” said Ashraf from his hometown in Bihar.

    Ashraf, 21, told the OT over phone that he loved writing since his school time at Gaya. Born and raised in Gaya, Ashraf plans to write more books as his another book is also ready for print.

    He said he raised the witch haunting of Tableeghis during that time in the media.
