    The social media in Okhla is flooded with news of death of chief of Ehle Sunnat Academy Trust Atiq Ur Rehman a few minutes ago.

    Several people, including activists and leaders, have posted the news of his death on his timeline.

    The OT’s several calls to the number of Ehle Sunnat Academy Trust provided on its Facebook has gone unpicked.

    Okhla leader Mahmood Ahmed told the OT over phone that yes he too has come to know about the death of Atiq Ur Rehman.

    On doing a Facebook search, the OT stumbled on a page of Ehle Sunnat Academy Trust Delhi. A post of May 7 said: “Please pray for the quick recovery of Atiq Ur Rehman as his health condition is not good.”

    He was a resident of Zakir Nagar.

    Another Okhla resident told the OT that Atiq was very close to Mahmood and he is in a better position to confirm the news.

    Another Okhla resident Rizwan Khan told the OT over phone that the patient was admitted in Al Shifa Hospital after failing ill a few days ago.

    The OT called Al Shifa Hospital to confirm about the news. “Yes a patient by this name has died today,” said Al Shifa Hospital PRO Marghoob Zaidi.
