    100 staff members of Jamia get Covid shots

    More than 100 staff members of JMI vaccinated to prevent Covid-19

    More than hundred teaching and non-teaching staff of the Jamia Millia Islamia above 45  years of age were today given the first shot of Covishield vaccine to prevent Covid-19. The two-day vaccination camp is being organised at Dr. M. A. Ansari Health Centre of the university.

    Those given shots were kept under observation for about 30 minutes to observe any side-effect of the vaccine. Thankfully no side effects were observed. They were also given Paracetamol tablets to be consumed if they feel any pain/fever and advised to keep themselves hydrated.

    A total of 220 RT-PCR free tests were also conducted for all health beneficiaries of the university today to detect Covid-19. Yesterday, 276 tests were conducted. It was the second day of the three-day test drive. It will continue tomorrow as well.

    The test drive is being organized in collaboration with Delhi Health Services (DHS), Government of NCT of Delhi.

    The university’s health centre has been equipped with all possible emergency arrangements for the drive.

    The vaccination and RT-PCR test have been organized at the direction of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Najma Akhtar keeping in view the health and well-being of all the stakeholders. Earlier the university administration had received requests from Jamia Teachers’ Association and Jamia Administrative Staff Association for the same.
