    Hindi monthly, weekly Kanti launched in new format

    Hindi monthly, weekly Kanti launched in new format

    The Hindi monthly and the weekly Kanti in a new format was launched at a ceremony held at Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) headquarters today.

    Speaking at the launching programme, JIH president Syed Sadatullah Husaini praised the Kanti’s new look and the latest content. He said: “Its main purpose is to convey the thoughts and message of Islam among the people of the country. If articles and contents will be of standard, then it will become more popular. Therefore, special attention needs to be paid on contents. Ample opportunities should be given to new writers, especially to women and youth, in order to highlight social issues.

    “Kanti weekly is for Hindi readers and its purpose is the same as that of the Urdu monthly Zindag-i-Nau and the Dawat weekly.”

    He expressed hope that both the Hindi periodicals would effectively achieve their purposes.

    On the occasion, Abdul Jabbar Siddiqui, Secretary of Dawat Trust, shed light on the importance and usefulness of the Hindi magazine in the country.

    Addressing the programme, editor of the Kanti Weekly, Tayyab Ahmad Mirza affirmed that our effort would be to highlight social and current issues.

    Editor of Kanti Monthly Shibli Arsalan said: “Effort will be made to make it a mouthpiece of Islam.”

    Shafi Madani, Secretary, of JIH, said these two Hindi magazines would succeed in fulfilling responsibilities.

    JIH Vice President S Amin Al Hassan and other office-bearers and dignitaries were present on the occasion.
