    Two-Day Programme of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 held

    The National Service Scheme (NSS), Jamia Hamdard, successfully organized a two-day intellectual programme of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 on the theme “One Nation, One Election: Paving the Way for Viksit Bharat” from 19th March to 20th March, 2025 at Convention Centre, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. The programme was organized under the initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.

    The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament is a transformative platform initiated by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, aimed at empowering the youth of the nation to voice their ideas, engage in meaningful discussions, and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. Inspired by the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, this initiative seeks to nurture leadership qualities, civic responsibilities, and innovative thinking among the next generation of change-makers.

    Jamia Hamdard, as the Nodal Host Institute, proudly organised this event for the districts of East, South East, South West, and South of NCT of Delhi.

    The Inaugural Ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Ms. Joyshree Das Verma, National President, FICCI Ladies Organization. The Guest of Honour was Dr. Lal Singh, State Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Delhi. The event also featured esteemed jury members, including: Mr. Mirza Qamrul Hassan Beg, Chairman, Jamia Cooperative Bank Ltd.; Alok Kumar, IPS, DCP, Delhi Police Special Cell, Rohini, Delhi; Mr. Chandan Kumar Choudhary, MLA, Sangam Vihar, Delhi; Amrit Lugun, IFS, Former Ambassador of India to Greece and Prof. Ajay Kumar Singh, Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Jamia Hamdard

    Mr. Chandan Kumar Choudhary, MLA, Sangam Vihar, Delhi was the Jury member of the event, emphasized, “India cannot become a developed nation until its youth actively participate in politics. It is the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to encourage one lakh young individuals to join politics and redefine its purpose. The youth should enter politics not for personal gains but to serve the nation.”

    The Guest of Honour, Dr. Lal Singh, highlighted the significance of youth participation in a democratic nation like India. He further expressed that hosting the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 was a matter of great pride for Jamia Hamdard.

    The Chief Guest, Ms. Joyshree Das Verma, underlined the role of such platforms in fostering leadership skills, enhancing debating abilities, and promoting women empowerment. She remarked, “We may not be able to build the future for the youth, but we can certainly build a capable and empowered youth for the future.”

    The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard, Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam. In his presidential remarks, he stated, “This Youth Parliament provides our students with a platform to engage in meaningful dialogue, debate pressing issues, and propose innovative solutions to the challenges facing our nation.”

    During the two-day deliberations, participants presented their views before a panel of jury members, who evaluated them based on clarity of thought and understanding of the topic. More than 150 shortlisted students participated in the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 at Jamia Hamdard, and after a rigorous selection process, 10 outstanding students were chosen to compete at the state level.

    Dr. Javed Ahmed, NSS Coordinator, Jamia Hamdard, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Jury Members, Vice Chancellor, Registrar, DSW, Controller of Examinations, Dean-SEST, participants, and the organizing team, including Mr. Mirza Rahil Beg, Dr. Anjali Kaushik, Dr. Anzar Alam, and Dr. Danish Reza, for their valuable contributions and efforts in making the event a success.

    The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving the participants inspired and motivated to take an active role in shaping the future of the nation.
