Jamia Millia Islamia has initiated a search process for a new Vice Chancellor after Najma Akhtar term at the university was over 22 days ago.
Professor Tariq Mansoor, a Member of the Legislative Council (Nominated) from Uttar Pradesh State and former Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (2017-23), and TV Kattimani, the Vice-Chancellor of the Central Tribal University in Hyderabad, are the two people chosen by the Executive Council for the search committee.
Additionally, the education minister will nominate one more person, according to report.
The meeting details were sent to the education ministry, according to sources.
