Watch: Child on ventilator for days after being hit by car at school bus stop regains consciousness, 3 hurt

A child on a ventilator for days after being hit by a car at a school bus stop in Jamia Nagar has regained consciousness, according to his father Imran Ahmad, a resident of Okhla Vihar.

The father said in the incident which took place last Friday, his five-year-old child, wife Shabina and two children and others waiting at a bus stop for school bus in Noor Nagar were injured.

In a message, the RWA said: “A car has struck schoolchildren and two women at Mujeeb Bagh (exactly opposite) the turning point.”
Among those injured, four people were from Imran’s family including his wife who had gone to the bus stop to drop her three children, waiting for the school bus.

Imran said after being informed about the incident, he rushed to the spot and then came to Holy Family Hospital. He said after treatment his wife and two children were back home. However, he said his five-year-old son, who was also waiting for the school bus, sustained serious injuries and landed in the ICU.

He said the first battle has been won as my son, a pre-primary student, regained consciousness two days ago but the fight is not yet over. “We are praying that he recovers fast as he sustained serious injuries in the accident,” he said.

This report is based on conversation with Imran, the father of injured children.
